What tuning lever do we recommend?
The Kestrel carbon fiber tuning lever from Supply88 is a new product (released Jan. 2022), and we will begin carrying it here on Pianogoods very soon. Until then, it can be purchased directly from the manufacturer at the above link. The combination of ultra low mass (4 ounces) and extreme stiffness (carbon fiber modulus is over 3 times that of standard CF tubing) make it the most responsive lever we've ever used. For beginners and students, a lighter and stiffer lever will provide better feedback or "pin feel" which speeds up the learning curve to develop proper lever techniques. These same properties also make it an excellent choice for seasoned pros looking to reduce tuning time and improve quality.
This Jahn has a lighter weight, stationary hardwood handle. The overall length is 11” and it comes with 1-1/4" #2 star tip. Be sure to choose your preference of head angle when ordering: Available with a 15 degree or 5 degree head.
