This tool is an absolute necessity when installing new or spliced wire and coils.
This chrome plated tool helps produce uniform string spacing when installing new wire, and the other end is used to lift up on the bottom of newly-formed coils as the tension is brought up, resulting in perfectly tight coils.
(Hint for those just learning the process: Do not rest the coil lifter on the plate to pry up on the wire - this can damage the plate finish. Instead, simply lift up on the coil without the tool contacting the plate.)
The tool is 8" long and has a 1.5" drop.
